This is one of only a handful of degrees that equip students with a NSW Institute of Teachers accredited qualification which allows them to teach in both primary and secondary schools.

27 core education subjects (216 credit points) + 7 high school specialist teaching subjects (56 credit points) + 2 curriculum method subjects (16 credit points) + 2 compulsory subjects (16 credit points) = 304 credit points





In addition to core subjects which cover the social context of education and primary study areas such as English, Mathematics and PDHPE, students can attain a high school teaching specialisation by majoring in either Business Studies, Mathematics, English or History.

Students will also learn about the social and behavioral issues that permeate adolescence, as well as the challenges faced by children during the transition from primary to secondary school. To meet these ends, practical experience is undertaken in the fourth year of the degree, with 15 days placement in a primary education setting, and 15 days in a secondary education setting.
