Degree Structure

Professional Development in Education strand (72 credit points) + Studies in Development and Learning strand (24 credit points) + Studies of Pedagogy and the Child strand (120 credit points) + Profesional Experience strand (40 credit points) + 2 core subjects (16 credit points) = 272 credit points

 

 

Campus

Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo


It covers topics such as sociology, Indigenous studies and child development, while enhancing the interpersonal and leadership skills of students through hands on workshops, and teaching them to cater to children with special needs. Graduates will be qualified to teach the curriculum in all K-6 primary schools.

The four strands of this degree group the subjects together into four areas of similar content. The Professional Development in Education strand focuses on the history, context and issues that surround the role of educator itself. The Studies of Development and Learning strand focuses on the experience of learning from the perspective of the child. The Studies of Pedagogy and the Child strand covers the core content of Primary Education, such as curriculum topics and relationship management. Finally, the Professional Experience strand involves five practical experience subjects that each deal with a unique age group from within the age range of birth to 12 years.
