Tasmania is Australia's loveable island state. With a population of over 500,000, mainly concentrated around Tasmania's capital, Hobart in the south and Launceston in the north, a considerable part of the rest of the island is covered by heritage listed forests. The University of Tasmania is located across three sites: Hobart, Launceston and Burnie, in the north west. With a growing student population of over 21,000, the University of Tasmania offers its students a unique learning experience in one of Australia's most beautiful locations.

The University of Tasmania has three main campuses across the state: Sandy Bay, Cradle Coast, and Newnham in Launceston. It is consistently ranked internationally in terms of Marine and Antarctic research, and boasts Australia’s only specialist Antarctic studies degree programme.
