Introduction:
The Bachelor of Engineering Technology is a degree aiming to allow those with advanced qualifications from TAFE or similar to further develop and professionalise their skills and knowledge level in a tertiary environment. Students elect to focus on one of three streams, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering. It is not intended for year 12 leavers.

The first year is held in common to all three streams, and provides a foundation in the physical sciences, mathematics and computer skills required for success at a higher level. Many of the units of this degree are the same as those of a Bachelor of Engineering, but this degree tends to focus more on the design aspects of the degree, reflecting the para-professional nature of the degree. Students may articulate into a Bachelor of Engineering to become true professional engineers in their field of specialisation.

Careers are available in a wide number of areas, including consulting firms, construction or at any level of government.

Core units: Computer Aided Design and Communication, Engineering Statics, Chemistry of Materials, Calculus and Applications 1A and 1B, Engineering Dynamics, Engineering Circuit Theory and Programming, and Problem Solving.

N/A Applicants are required to hold a TAFE Diploma or advanced diploma in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering.
