The Juris Doctor aims to provide a professional and focused atmosphere for students serious about studying law. Graduates will be ready to gain admission to legal practice. In practice, much of the material will be similar to that in the old Bachelor of Law; although the degree structure will be finalised in 2012. School leavers can apply for the assured pathway, which means that they will be guaranteed a place in the Juris Doctor after completing a Bachelor of Arts; Commerce; Design; Science or Philosophy (Honours). However, most students will apply for entry after first completing one of the undergraduate degrees available at UWA.
